Winnipeg Comedy Showcase
This is the deal: You have seen these hard working comedians all over town and tonight is the night to see them all at The Park Theatre, performing their best material. This is no open mic, there are no amateurs here. Only the best. Hosted By Jared Story
Jordan Welwood
Jordan Welwood
Winnipeg born comedian and writer. Jordan has been a finalist in the Winnipeg's Funniest Person with a Day Job contest, and headlined Rumors Comedy Club. He has performed all across Canada, and was a finalist in Canada's Next Top Comic at Just For Laughs 42. His observations and imagery on the lifestyle of 20's bachelorhood, coupled with animated performance, are all around fun.
Benji Rothman
Benji Rothman
Winnipeg comedian currently holed up in the mountains writing his magnum opus, as well as his bio.
John B Duff
John B Duff
John B Duff is a Winnipeg stand-up comic and the 2005 winner of Winnipeg’s Funniest Person with a Day Job competition. He placed in the top 10 of CTV’s Nationwide Corner Gas Comic Genius competition and was a local finalist in the Just for Laughs National Homegrown Comic Competition 2007. When not crowing about competing in competitions, John enjoys giving the slip to Cancer and performing at festivals and clubs around North America.
Kate Schellenberg
Kate Schellenberg
Kate Schellenberg is originally from the East Coast. She got tired of the mild winters, pleasant people and being near the ocean so she packed her bags and headed to Manitoba. Kate has most recently performed at the Winnipeg Comedy Fest and the Rumors Roast Battle and got her start at the Women’s Open Mic in Winnipeg. It’s Kate’s first time performing at Oddbock and she is thrilled for the opportunity.
Keener
Keener
Like Madonna and Bono, Keener needs only one name.
Keener’s standup looks at the world with an indomitable sense of optimism that many have lost as they grew up and became cynical adults. Keener takes you back to that happy place with jokes that appeal to both your sophisticated adult brain as well as your inner child giggles.
Combining his standup and alternative comedy material in Keener’s one man show, entitled “Keener’s One Man Show (Featuring Other Men)”, he enjoyed successful runs in 2009 and in the 2010 Fringe Festival. Keener was part of the 2010 and 2011 Winnipeg Comedy Festival and is currently working on a quilt.
